4.) Input Sessions – Pastoral Council
Approximately 600 parishioners were randomly selected to participate in input sessions. There will
be 2 sessions per night for 3-nights, January 8,9, and 10th at 7pm and 8:15pm. These sessions were
designed for parishioners to answer the questions:
What works well at St. Raymond?
What are the greatest needs that currently exist in the parish?
What would you like to see at St. Raymond in the future?
This is in preparation for a town hall meeting to be held February 8, 2007. The parishioners selected
to participate received a letter of invitation from Father Bob. The council will be note takers during
these meetings. On Saturday January 20 at 11:00 a meeting of the council is scheduled to discuss the
notes and findings from the input sessions.
5.) Pastor's Report:
The CYO has received a more open policy in regards to use of a public school gym
and is being
allowed to use of a
gym to practice.
The Christmas celebrations all went well with attendance as expected.
The parish debt has now been paid.
Youth Minister candidates have been identified although we are not currently advertising the
position. This could lead to a good addition to the parish staff and be a blessing to
those currently
sharing the duties.
Bishop Vigneron has been ill with an infection after surgery. He is optimistic about his
recovery.
Father Patrick Goodwin was hospitalized with a heart problem but has returned home.
A letter was received from another parish regarding our 5-year plan and requesting an opinion as to
any changes that we have noted.
6.) New Business:
Bob Reguilon will be inquiring as to the design and cost of new name badges for the council. The
new badges would be larger than the current ones and it is anticipated that they would be worn
when
at the church.
Meetings of the council and the staff will be determined.
7.) Sacrificial Giving:
Our Lady Queen of Martyrs School sent a thank you letter for our prior gift. It allowed an under
privileged child to remain in school during her mother's serious illness.
Gifts of $5,000.00 each were recommended for the Catholic Relief Services and St. Vincent De Paul.
The next council meeting will be held on February 1, 2007. Connie volunteered for the opening
prayer and Bob volunteered for the closing prayer.
8.) Closing prayer
Father Bob offered the closing prayer and the meeting adjourned.
