2.)
Approval of January 2007 Minutes – Eric Hom & Pastoral Council
January 2007 minutes were approved as amended
3.) The upcoming Town Hall meeting was discussed.
Approximately 150 people are
anticipated to attend.
The Hospitality Committee will provide refreshments.
The meeting is expected to last for about 2 to 2 1/2 hours.
A folder per person will be provided containing the findings from the input sessions. The findings
will be listed on sheets possibly attached to the walls. Each person will be provided with three dots to
place next to the items. This will help identify the top 10 items. Small group discussions can then be
held to have each group identify their top 3 items.
It will then be the Council's task to identify these items and review for fit into the 10 essentials,
include meetings with the Parish Staff, and implementation.
The 5 year plan can then be reviewed
and adjusted as needed with one or two of the essentials being reviewed by each council member.
4.) Pastor's Report:
This Sunday, February 4, 2007 will be the commissioning of the Pastoral Council at the 10:30 mass.
Photos of the members will follow.
The school is holding Grandparents Day on February 2, 2007.
Catholic School Management was discussed.
An annual maintenance fund is needed.
The Thank You party
was very successful. People have reported that they have met people that they
have seen for years and have had the opportunity to get to know each other.
5.) Unfinished Business
The LED sign to display announcements is pending further action.
New larger nametags for the council members are
ready.
6.) New Business:
A discussion was held regarding becoming more active in the Dublin Chamber and in local events.
This is to be done in an attempt to have the Church more visible.
Bob Reguilon and Connie Spence will be reviewing the local events for possible attendance.
When able to do so, Council Members are encouraged to attend mass at different times than they are
accustomed. Rotate masses possibly 1 different mass per month.
Formal and informal council and staff meetings are encouraged and possibly a couple of retreats per
year both social and faith sharing.
The council will be involved in a Donut Sunday
March 18, and Lenten soup
February 22.
Michael Reardon is speaking February 15, 2007.
7.) Sacrificial Giving:
Connie Spence is working on a spreadsheet as to where gifts were distributed in the past.
As a reminder, people in the Katrina area are still in need.
St. Vincent de Paul in the local area is to have a 2nd collection on each 5th Sunday of the month
during the year. There are as many as 4 months per year with 5 Sundays. This will give the local area
$12,500.00 plus four collections this year.
The food barrels in the vestibule are not being used as expected.
It was suggested that we give to A Freindly Manor, which is a homeless women’s' shelter in Oakland.
We now have the Pastoral Council Corner in the bulletin where donations can be announced and
charities promoted.
The next council meeting will be held on
March 1, 2007.
8.) Closing prayer
Connie Spence
offered the closing prayer.
The
meeting adjourned.
