PASTORAL COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
May 4, 2007

Eric Hom called the meeting to order.
1.) Opening Prayer
Laurianne Behrens led the council in prayer.
2.)
Approval of April 2007 Minutes – Eric Hom & Pastoral Council
April 2007 minutes were approved as amended
3.) Unfinished Business
The council reviewed the current 5-year plan and reviewed the mission statement. The council will
reach out to Chuck Siebenand to help strategize the parish goals to be consistent with the 5-year the
current 5-year plan. Chuck will also help to revise the mission statement so that it is more concise.
Dave Conley, Bonnie Kramer and Connie Spence have volunteered to be a committee to revise the
mission statement with Chuck.
The council continued to review the messaging of the 5-year plan. Father Bob brought in the goals
form St Perpetua as an example of a succinct message.
The council discussed the discernment timing and process. It was proposed that the time frame would
be moved from September to October. We decided that this year would be too soon because of the
timing. We also discussed recruiting strategies.
Social Justice update
Social Justice continues to be one of the top priorities for St Raymond from the feedback sessions. A
number of people came out to participate in the social justice brainstorming sessions. The Social
Justice committee is working on establishing a mission statement. The committee is working to build
and education program around social justice. The next Social Justice meeting will be on Tuesday,
May 9th to discuss the mission and objectives.
4) Pastor’s Report

The parish has achieved the goal of raising $25,000.

A new Youth Minister has been recruited. Keri Stempfle has been hired.

The bereavement committee is in the process of being reviewed. There is an evaluation as to
whether or not to establish a grief ministry.
5) New Business
We now have a booth for the San Ramon Art & Wind Festival.
The Parish Picnic will be on Sunday the 20th.
6) Sacrificial Giving
$5,000 was given to Catholic Charities
