Five-Year Plan Revision
·
Our 5-year plan needs to be completed so we can focus our short and long-
term needs.
·
Eric, Christian and Mark agreed to form a committee and report at next PC
meeting—other PC members should give their input by contacting Eric.
Master Plan Update
·
The needs of our Parish are increasing. The school needs room, the parish
and the various groups that use our facilities are competing for times and
spaces to meet and have functions.
·
It is time for out-of-the-box thinking to help raise the required funds.
    Youth Groups
·
50 students were confirmed. Congratulations to all.
High School Faith Formation is having a program on the 26th of this
·
month—game night.
·
A Leadership Team is needed for next year.
·
Some of the questions discussed were:
1.
Why is there a team?
2.
Who do they represent?
3.
How do they represent the youth of our parish?
4.
What can the youth do to help the parish?
5.
There is a lack of presence of college-age people. Is this
due to not having a college in town?
·
Some signs of progress in our Youth Groups:
1.
We now have a young adult on the Pastoral Council who is
active in the Youth programs.
2.
The PC is now getting regular updates on what is
happening.
3.
More representation at Mass by our young people as they
participate in fundraisers and service projects.
·
Middle and High Schoolers will be meeting on Sundays to
encourage more involvement since Mondays and Tuesday
evenings are conflicting with busy school schedules.
·
The JUMP group does community Service by helping the seniors
with projects in the morning and then having a fun time together.
·
The Youth Ministry wants to know what THEY can do for the
parish. They want to work with other groups as a group
performing service in our parish for our parishioners. How can
we make this happen?
Welcome Committee – Thoughts were voiced on this topic and it was decided to
revisit this topic next year.
Social Justice Committee—
·
We discussed the follow-up to their presentation (65 attended). There was
good positive feedback from the attendees.
The April 9th meeting from 7-9 pm will focus on how individuals can get
·
involved and local opportunities to serve.
·
Next issues to be discussed: poverty, war (What is a “just war”), and
faithful citizenship.
·
It was also discussed that there needs to be a personal follow-through:
people and parish need to say prayers on the matter, donate time or do an
action for this to bear fruit.
