Unfinished Business
A.
Social Justice Update
1.
St. Raymond’s Social Justice Committee (SJC) met on April 30 to discuss
their next steps; over 30 people attended their 2nd meeting
2.
Results of the presentation at the meeting were an increase in parishioners
reaching out and asking about possibilities to become more active
3.
Some interested in forming a group to go together to Livermore and help at
the Open Heart Kitchen
4.
The next topic for the SJC will be the social impacts of war and possible
outreach actions to veterans
5.
This coming October the topic will be Faithful Citizenship: presentations and
actionable activities for the upcoming elections
6.
The SJC Core group would like to expand and create liaisons to parish groups
for a greater input base and communication between St. Raymond’s people
7.
Some parishioners went to Sacramento for Legislation Day to discuss
legislation items with our lawmakers.
B.
Discernment Update
1.
Pastoral Council is in the process of discernment for the new Council
members. Three members will be retiring from the PC this summer.

Master Plan Update
1.
The Final Version of the Master Plan will soon go to the Facilities Committee
and then to the Staff and Pastoral Council
2.
A 3-dimensional model will be made of final plan

Mission Statement / 5 year plan Committee
1.
The “Parish Goal” and the “Parish Mission Statement” should
be short and memorable
2.
We want to retain the “10 essentials” in memorable way and modernize it
with pictures.
Pastor’s Report
1.
There will be a new Principal at St. Raymond’s School this summer:
Madeleine de la Fontaine will be taking over from Tony Guevara. We wish
him all the best in his new location.
2.
This year is the WASC certification for our School. This involves much hard
work on the part of the students, staff and administration.
3.
First Communions are being celebrated now in our parish. Congratulations to
all our First Communicants and their families!
4.
This Sunday is the Fund-raiser BBQ for Tom Grywczynski and his family.
Over 700 people are expected to come out for this good cause.
New Business
1.
This summer the PC will meet with the Church Staff
St. Raymond’s Festival is still planned for the 1st weekend in October
2.
3.
PC members are looking into participation in “Day on the Glen” in September
Youth News
1.
JUMP youth group is planning a trip to Great America on Saturday, May 3rd
2.
Vacation Bible Camp is coming in August
High School Faith Formation group will hold a BBQ on the 12th of May
3.
4.
Two of our parishioners are going to World Youth Day in Australia
