Minutes of the St Raymond Pastoral Council Meeting

Meeting:

Approval of Minutes from September 10 Meeting: The minutes were approved as corrected. M, Matt Troiano;

Unfinished Business:

PC Bylaws: Pat Kohnen and Connie Kersten will meet to prepare a draft proposal to present at the next council

meeting.

Mission Statement and three fold brochure: Mark Bales will meet with Janet Egler to review the current

draft to present to the entire council.

Gymnasium:

Need to look for a new person to head an exploration committee since Kevin Blanco has moved

to Texas with his family.

Pictures for Website: update pictures and labels

Old Business:

Pastoral Council Members: Bob Reguilon will remain for one more year. Continuity seems important as we

move forward with the StregthsFinder activities and a new mission statement and brochure. Recruitment will

begin immediately to find people interested in serving on the Pastoral Council for a discernment process next

Spring. No new members were added to the Council at this time. Mark Bales will contact candidates to close

the loop for this cycle.

Pastoral Report:

Ministry Faire:

Being

inside Moran Hall worked well, including placing the donuts in the middle of the

information tables. Next year we should consider placing a sign outside Church to direct people to the Hall.

School Year & Religious Ed:

The Middle School and High School program has grown by 73 participants. The

enrollment at the School is 286. New altar servers have been trained and are beginning to serve at Mass.

Blessing of Animals: Will take place on Sunday October 4th.

Keep StrengthsFinder Activities going:

This will continue to be an important focus for our Parish.

Special Second Collections:

Sunday October 11th will be for the Philippine disaster, the following Sunday will

be for Samoa & Indonesia.

The funds collected at St Raymond will be forwards to Catholic Relief Services for

distribution.

Topics for Current Meeting:

Election: Janet Egler joined the meeting by phone for the election of new Pastoral Council officers.

Fr Bob

described the roles. The Chair conducts the meeting & puts together the agenda with other members, asks

ministries to recommit at Easter, and  could represent the Parish at Diocesan events. The Vice Chair fills in for

the Chair as needed. The Secretary takes minutes at the Council meetings and takes care of any necessary

correspondence.

were nominated and Janet was elected by secret ballot.

- Connie Kersten was nominated and elected.
