Approval of Minutes from October 1
Meeting:
The minutes were approved as corrected. M, Bob Reguilon;
S,
Matt Troiano
Unfinished Business:
Pastoral Council Guidelines: The draft was discussed and several revisions were suggested. Pat will prepare
another draft and send it to all Council members to review again at the December meeting.
StrengthsFinder Update: Bob Reguilon
has been coaching. Diana Bitz gave a presentation for the Women’s
Guild. Several people purchased books and some have made counseling appointments with Diana. We should
all encourage people who take the survey to follow through with coaching. Fr Bob gave a presentation to the
Knights of Columbus. Janet Egler will be doing a presentation for Wings on December 2. Fr Bob will do a
presentation at the next school Faculty Meeting. We should all emphasize the positive nature of the
StrengthsFinder process when we talk to people about it. We are looking forward to more engagement of
parishioners with the Parish Community as more people complete the StrengthsFinder survey and coaching.
Fr
Bob reported that the Staff is answering a StrengthsFinder question at each meeting. Two questions have been,
How have you used one of your
talents this week? How have your talents worked together this week?
 On
January 9 there is a StrengthsFinder meeting planned for the Diocese. Pastoral Council members should plan to
attend.
Mission Statement and three fold brochure: Mark Bales will meet with Janet Egler to review the current
draft to present to the entire council at the December meeting.
Gymnasium:
Need to look for a new person to head an exploration committee since Kevin Blanco has moved
to Texas with his family.
Pictures for Website: Pat will send a request to the web master to remove Kevan’s picture and update the
labels for Chair, Vice-Chair and Recorder.
Topics for Current Meeting:
Update
Pastoral Council Roster:
The Pastoral Council Roster was passed around to confirm information. Pat
will ask Janet, Mark and Christian to confirm their information and then prepare a current roster that does not
include Kevan.
Pastoral Report:
St Raymond
School: There
has been an increase of 6 students at the school.
Animal Blessing:
This was a successful event.
Special Collection: About $10,000 was collected to send to Catholic Relief Services to help in the Philippines.
Holiday Food Basket Project:
Religious Education and St Vincent de Paul are cooperating on this project.
Social Justice Health Care Panel:
This was a very informative evening for the people who attended. The
audience was small.
New Sound System:
It was installed on Tuesday and is being tweaked. Four special listening devices will be
available for parishioners to use at Mass
or at other events held in the Church.
This fulfills a request from town
hall meetings held to develop the Parish Strategic Plan. The Parish may be able to help parishioners purchase
their own personal device.
The cost for the sound system is $50,000. Some parishioners are making special
donations for the new sound system.
October Count:
The count was down a little. The ushers do a count of the congregation at each Mass during
the month of October.
Job link:
There is a meeting weekly to help people look for work.
Parking Lot Break-ins: There have been some car break-ins in the Church parking lot. People should not leave
valuables in plain sight and should lock their cars. Neighboring Parishes have had break-ins to buildings, but St
Raymond has not. The Dublin Police have said there have been car break-ins throughout the City,
Closing Prayer by
Matt Troiano.
For the next meeting Matt Troiano will do the opening prayer and Bob Reguilon
will do the closing prayer.
Meeting adjourned at
8:40
pm.
The December meeting will be on December 17. Connie, Pat and Matt volunteered to bring some holiday
treats and we hope that Mark will contribute some of his wine.
Respectfully submitted,
Pat Kohnen
